Naya is a true women of the medicine. You can feel her ancestors and her lineage so powerfully at the aid of her work — so many benevolent allied forces joined our Closing of the Bones ceremony. Naya was extremely tuned in and did not rush what was not ready to be closed - instead she listened and offered me beautiful insight into where my womb and body were finding itself. She pours her heart into her work, which your body and spirit can feel. I felt so tender and taken care of in her space, something my body was deeply calling for after a tumultuous post partum period. I will work with Naya again and again. I wish I had the words to describe what an incredible experience it was working with Mapu & Naya. I had been craving some sort of ceremony after the birth of my first child, and hadn't found anything that felt right for me. I found pregnancy, childbirth & new motherhood deeply transformative and challenging, but without a way to truly mark the significance, or talk about the intense highs and lows of this new phase. My experience with Naya and Mapu was truly unlike anything I have experienced before in my life. Never have I felt so held, loved and nurtured as I did in the hands of these two beautiful women. They were able to take me to such deep places within myself, and hold a space that truly felt infinitely expansive. It’s honestly hard to sit here and put words to what unfolded for me, but it was incredibly healing. The indigenous traditions they brought, left me feeling as if I was one with the Earth. I also couldn’t believe how much devotional time they spent with me, it was more than I could’ve ever imagined. The Closing of the Bones Ceremony left me feeling ready to move on with my fertility journey and feel such deep closure with my past miscarriages. I was lucky enough to enjoy a closing of the bones ceremony at the hands of Naya shortly after I experienced a miscarriage. It was a beautiful blend of rituals involving herbs, loving touch, and a complete and total witnessing of my Self as a Mother of both living and non-living children. With gentle intention, Naya used herbal branches to brush infused water over my legs and feet. She then gave me a comforting massage before wrapping my body with beautiful scarves and rebozos, all of which served to set long-held emotions free from the depths of my physical body. Naya didn't mind at all that my elderly cat insisted on being present for every part of the ceremony. I appreciated this because it felt meaningful to have them both there holding space for me and my process. Naya is the first person I recommend to mothers seeking real ceremonial witnessing and heartfelt bodywork during their postpartum recovery. She's a true sister through and through, and I'm grateful to have her in my life.
